I was also wondering how accurate the beads really are. Would i need a hygrometer still if i kept the beads moist? I have heard they keep great accurancy and need very little maintanence and i wondering if i would save on buying a hygrometer if its guarenteed to hold a 70% humidity level. I mean as long as i keep them moist it shouldn't be a problem right?
Im brand new at this so sorry for any ignorance. I really appreciate any knowledge past onto me. |
I know there is a general rule of thumb on what level to keep your sticks at. It truly is a matter of personal opinion. I have met some avid stogie enthusiasts who do not like a cigar over 60%. I have met others who swear by 65 and 70. There is no hard set rules to this.
As far as the hygrometer is concerned...Get one. As great as the beads are, nothing is infallible. The beads offered by Heartfelt are probably the best. Even then, there could be fluctuations. Without having the ability to visually monitir your stogies for humidification and temperature...It could cost you more in the long run.
Take care and hoping herfing.
