Are you too high or too low? If you're too high, try adding some pieces of cedar wood to the inside of your humidor (or buy more cigars ). If you're too low, try rehidrating your credo (sponge). Also, you want to make sure your hydrometer is calibrated, even if it's a digital. I've been bitten by thinking I was way off in my humidity when it turned out my hydrometer needed massive calibration. Here is a good set of instruction on how to calibrate:

http://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?pa...torage#saltcal

Also, as a lot of people will tell you who have been smoking for a while, do not be anal about keeping your cigars at an exact 70/70. Degrees in variation are ok. I would say that dryer is better then wetter. I try to keep my cigars at a good 67 but I'm fine if it drops to 65 or goes up to 70. After some time, just by touch and smoke, you'll be able to tell if your cigars are ok.

Here's also a nice read on the theory behind 70/70. Basically it seems that there is no good theory:

scroll down a bit.

Definitely go with the beads, they take a lot of the guess work out of it bro. Also, don't open and close your humi until you are ready to grab a smoke.

Great advice. Beads certainly are an easy way to go.

Thanks guys... I appreciate the advice...I am going to get those beads and I hope that should work. I have been using distilled water up to this point in the sponge the humi came with.

Thanks for the great advice.
