Authenticity It can be tough; counterfeits are getting better and better. Most of the information can be found online. The obvious things are the appearance of the box, the markings on the box, the cigars, their color, the bands, taste, how they burn, and last but not least the government seal, prior to 1999-2000 it was a light green and very easy to duplicate (not much help), the new seal is much more sophisticated its a much darker green (like currency) with micro fine printing, UV serial number, UV image, and slight changes to the images on the seal. If the box was unopened when you received it the seal can be very helpful otherwise you can have a perfect box with all the elements but bogus cigars inside. Study up, ask lots of questions on lots of boards like this one and you will get a better feel you may even get someone to recommend a vendor. Once you find a vendor you can trust you still have to check every box LOL.
Hope that helps a little!
